Is this still available for use?
Most of the hostels have disappeared from the YHA website. |

If it's not on theYHA website and not on ours under accommodation then it's not in use, or been sold.
I don't ever recall a YHA at Mylor.

Hi Sneaky, sorry yes we are able to confirm that this facility is no longer operating. YHA did let us know on the 12th but I have only just updated this page as I was away hiking.

Hi,
With the YHA hut now closed, does anyone know if we are still able to set up tents in that area? My friend and I would prefer to camp than pay for accommodation in Mylor itself.
Thanks,
Jarrod. |

You would have to ask YHA, but they may have or be in the process of disposing of the property.
It's quite common for backpackers to stay overnight in Goyder Reserve, just south of the town. Camping is not permitted, but as I recall not expressly forbidden. Having lived nearby for a while I often saw backpacker's vans there. It's a large wild-ish park with plenty of places to quietly set up a minimal impact camp. _________________ Jeremy

| Thanks Jez, had a look into the location, looks convenient being just off the track and all. |
