| Hi, my husband and I have just started walking sections of the heysen trail but we are wanting to join a group to do some more of the sections. How do we know what our walking grade is we have only ever done hikes at our own speed, we walked 17km in 4.5 hours is that slow or ok. Can we just join any walk when we have time off work or do we need to do it regually? |

Lissy,
It sounds like you walk quite fast if you can manage 17km in 4.5 hours.
You can join the Friends any time you like. We allow guests to walk two walks, then you must join the association if you wish to continue walking with us-insurance thing, and we would welcome you aboard.
We currently have two groups walking the Trail End to End.
On group finishes this week, at Parachilna, the other are currently in the Barossa heading north.
We hope to start another End to End group from Cape Jervis next year-End to End 4.
In addition we have the two Sunday walks, TrailStarters and TrailWalkers-I think you would do OK in the latter, as that is the harder walk. TrailStarters are for new walkers not sure how fit they are or not sure if they really want to start bushwalking.
Our website gives you a pretty good idea what we are about. _________________ Julian Monfries
