Camping at Bridle Gap was the highlight of our trip from The Hawker-Parachilna Road to Parachilna Gorge (7 days, 125ish km.)
After climbing to the gap we spent some time admiring the very spectacular views over Elder Range, Chace Range and more. As the sun was rapidly approaching the horizon, I unfortunately had to insist we continue on, lest we be setting up camp in the dark (as I didn't know how far we would have to go before finding somewhere clear to camp.) Fortunately we found the campground a mere 100m away, so setup our tents and hastened back to the edge of the pound to watch the sunset over a cup of soup. It seemed like the edge of the world - it was truly spectacular.
While in essence the campsite is little more than a clear flat space, its location is very special
