I was just wondering if anyone can tell me about the ABC Ranges? and if anyone has climbed any of the peaks?
I've only seen photos and a few maps in the Heysen Trail Book and would love to know more.
Thanks |

Hey mate. Allegedly there's 26 peaks, hence the name. Haven't checked that though. I've climbed Mount Dib and Mount Dab in the north, near Pigeon Bore. There's some photos and references in the third day of the hike of this blog post: http://jez-hiking.blogspot.com.au/2012/06/dibber-dobber-dabber.html
The peaks, especially in the south, aren't very high, or very high compared to the Heysen Range on the opposite side of the valley. _________________ Jeremy

Are the 26 peaks named? My map has probably 26 depending on how you define a peak but I cannot find 26 names.
The range is mostly a saw tooth so wandering along the range involves a lot of up and down and up and down.
That said the Northern section from Aroona is a very pleasant wander. Some pics of a Winter wander are here https://picasaweb.google.com/105622138270107185062/101016DidDabNorthWander |
