| We are walking north from Wonoka and wish to leave a car on Moralana Drive. We believe we can walk on a 4 wheel drive track just south of Red Range to Moralana Drive(about 3 km). Is the track easily located south of Red Range on the trail and where does is come out on Moralana Drive? (distance from main rd or any other way of locating the track) Many thanks |

Unfortunately that track is entirely over private property, and not one in which permission is granted. Which does provide a logistics problem for that long section.

Alternatively you can access the trail from Mt Little, walking through Mayo Gorge, which saves a few km because it is north of Wonoka and Mayo Hut. _________________ Jeremy

Permission to walk out from Red Range to Moralana through Arkaba Station has been withdrawn.
You now have to walk from Wonoka ro Moralana Drive near Black Gap.
A group of the Friends recently undertook this walk, heading south, and walked from Moralana Drive to Mount Little Station, 31 Km.
Mount Little is off the Heysen Trail, though the Mayo Gorge.
You can drive into the camping ground at Mount Little and leave your car there. It's a long walk, yet not too hard and our group managed it quite easily. _________________ Julian Monfries
