The Department of Environment and Resources, publisher of the Heysen Trail guidebooks, have issued printing corrections to this edition.

The alternative route does NOT extend north along Blockers Road to the Ross Fire Track. The alternative route rejoins the main trail as shown at the intersection of Tower Road and the spot marked 'F'

The trail markers have now been placed, the trail now follows the route as published in the guidebook.

Due to SA Water OHS demands there is a minor alteration around Freshwater Creek Weir - the trail no longer passes over the weir wall. The channel has recently been reinstated after many years out of service.

From May 2010 until April 2011. With the publication of this edition the trail is shown as being re-routed through the town of Spalding. This re-route has not yet been marked, it is expected to be done prior to the commencement of the 2011 walking season in April, 2011. Until such time, the trail is marked from near the rubbish dump, south of Borve Road, as continuing along the drainage channel to Freshwater Weir.

The trail is not accurately displayed in the guidebook as it comes out of the Botanic Gardens. At the intersection of Summit Rd the trail heads south a short distance to Summerhill Rd, before following the fire tracks leading back close to Summit Rd.

A temporary closure of the trail along Centennial Drive and over Mt Crawford. The closure is due to logging operations from 2008 and includes the Centennial Drive campground.

This campsite shown in this guidebook edition is not yet open. A stile and signposting will be installed soon. The campsite is on a 10HA piece of land recently aquired by the Department for Environment and Resources. In the meantime the Balquhidder West Campsite (2km west) will remain open. UPDATE August 2011: Advance notice of forestry operations in Scotts Forest (the shaded forest area near Scotts Campsite, between Mewett and The Nugget Road). These operations may result in the trail being re-routed through some of this forest.

UPDATE August 2011: Advance notice of forestry operations in Pewsey Vale Forest (the shaded forest area between Brownies Road on the northern edge of map 4.2 and point F midway on map 4.3). These operations may result in the trail being re-routed through some of this forest.

A new campsite has been established at Robinson Hill. The campsite is located at GR 720 666, 50m south of road on top of Robinson Hill, 800m east along Hancock Road from where the trail turns to the north off Hancock Road (1.1km east of the ruined church).
