The Lavender Federation Trail

The Lavender Federation Trail traverses the southeastern flanks of the Mt Lofty Ranges, starting in Murray Bridge and winding 105km through diverse countryside to the township of Springton. The trail meanders past historic railyards, river wetlands, rugged gorges, forests, vast farming lands and the Monarto Zoological Park.

The 54km long Yurrebilla Trail is only 12 km from Adelaide, linking parks of the Adelaide Hills. It winds its way from Belair National Park to Black Hill Conservation Park; a cultural and environmental discovery bushwalk that passes through some of the most spectacular scenery of the Adelaide Hills including gorges, waterfalls, heathlands and tall forests, celebrating an environmentally and culturally significant landscape.

Situated in the heart of Central Australia, the Larapinta Trail extends over 223 kilometres along the backbone of the West MacDonnell Ranges. The Larapinta Trail begins at the old Alice Springs Telegraph Station and meanders through many gaps and sheltered gorges, climbs steeply over the rugged ranges, and has numerous stunning views and opportunities to photograph or admire the spectacular landscape. The Trail encompasses some of the key attractions of the Ranges including Simpsons Gap, Ellery Creek Big Hole, Ormiston Gorge and Glen Helen.

The Kokoda Trail

The Kokoda Trail is one of the world's great treks, in Papua New Guinea, having a World War II history of bitter fighting between Australian and Japanese Armies. The Australians, together with their Papuan "fuzzy wuzzy angels" allies, after four months of bitter fighting, overcame the obstacles of being inexperienced, ill-equipped and outnumbered in the rugged mountainous country of the Owen Stanley Ranges, and inflicted on the Japanese army its first land defeat. In the process, they became immortalized and a source of inspiration for future generations of Australians.
